## What makes SelfPatch different

SelfPatch is not only a habit tracker. Its core product idea is to reduce decision friction in self-improvement: help a person understand what to focus on, choose a realistic next action for the time available, explain why it was selected, and make progress visible over time.

Without a mentor, SelfPatch selects tasks from its structured task pool using onboarding answers and goals, module intake answers, available daily time, level and path progress, and recent behaviour. Opening a daily task shows a short reason for the choice.

SelfPatch also includes a **mentorship mode**. For the modules a mentorship covers, and for its period, algorithmic task assignment is replaced by mentor-authored guidance. The mentor can reuse task templates, set tasks to repeat, prescribe workouts and, in Nutrition, a diet plan. Every mentorship ends with an outcome report, to which the mentor can add a closing note. Mentor access to optional user information is controlled through granular consent settings, and access is logged.

A mentorship starts in the app's Find a mentor list. The user finds a mentor by area, picks a period (daily, weekly, monthly, 3 months, 6 months or yearly), and the week gets built: mentor tasks arrive blue on the Today screen with their source written on them. The user stays in control: the mentor sees only the areas the user opens, and all of them start closed. If the mentor stays silent for 72 hours, the period closes on its own and the unused days come back to the user.

Mentorship is positioned as habit and self-improvement support, not medical diagnosis or treatment. See the dedicated [English mentorship source](https://selfpatch.com/mentorship) or [Turkish mentorluk source](https://selfpatch.com/mentorluk).

At onboarding a person picks the daily time they can give (15, 30 or 60 minutes, or 90+). It is one input to each task's score: tasks that fit it rank higher, and longer ones become less likely.
